Uptagrafft LLC started out as Nomad Precision Engineering and was established in 2002 as a sole proprietorship focused on the development and testing of a new .22 competition rimfire rifle action.  After more than six years of development, a viable product was prototyped and successfully tested.  In 2009 Nomad Precision Engineering was changed to Uptagrafft, LLC.  The principals of the company are Eric and Sandra Uptagrafft.

Eric is an accomplished rifle shooter, having won multiple medals in both prone and 3-position at national and ISSF competition, a member of the 1996 and 2012 Olympic Teams, and is ranked in the top 5 in the world.  He has a degree in Aerospace Engineering and worked in the space industry for over 10 years.  His machining education began when he was in junior high, working in his uncle's gun shop.  Sandra has more than 10 women's pistol national championships, two Pan American Games championships in Ladies Sport Pistol, and was on the 2012 Olympic Team.  She is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and has worked in the computer field for more than 10 years.  Between the two of us we have more than 50 years of competitive shooting experience.

Our flagship product is a clean-sheet-of-paper competition .22 rimfire rifle action.  Our action incorporates two new accuracy enhancing design details: bottom strike firing pin, and front locking lugs, while still allowing ease of loading that is needed for international shooting.  Check the "Rimfire Action" tab for updates.

In addition to the new action, we also produce riser blocks, bloop tubes, and tuner bloop tubes.

Our strength is that we know the competitive shooting arena, and have the engineering and machining background to put that knowledge to use.  We are small enough to respond to individual needs and custom requests as well.
